Anthony Chen was the first filmaker from Singapore to be awarded in Cannes, when his short film, Ah Ma (Grandma), was nominated for the Palme d’Or for Short Film at the 60th Cannes Film Festival, and secured a Special Mention
Anthony graduated from film school in Singapore with the film, G-23, which also won awards both in Europe and Asia.
His next film Haze was nominated for the Golden Bear for Short Film at the 58th Berlin International Film Festival.
In 2009, he was awarded the Young Artist Award by the National Arts Council of Singapore.
He recently graduated with an MA in Fiction Directing at the National Film and Television School, UK.
Unsurprisingly perhaps, Anthony is currently working on his first full length feature, but still unbelievably has the time and energy to commit to the world of commercials.
