Co-founding Partner and Creative Director of Thornberg & Forester, Scott Matz, thrives on the truly collaborative, creative synergies that exist between everyone at the company and with clientele. He believes concept is king, and respect of good ideas is what leads to fas- tidious craftsmanship and hyper-attention to detail. Scott is constantly inspired by those who create beautifully-crafted work that triggers true emotional response.

Scott launched his creative career with Hollywood’s 3 Ring Circus in 1997. During what would become a 6-year post, he flourished as a designer and created major rebrands for international networks Viasat Scandinavia and RTL Germany as well as brand refreshes for HBO, DirecTV and Starz. Prior to the inception of T&F in 2007, Scott gathered a great deal of professional and workflow experience at several top companies on both coasts. Scott’s work has garnered several awards from the Broadcast Designers’ Association, the Type Direc- tors Club and Promax. Scott has used his years of creating effective branded storytelling to helm a worldwide on-air and online network launch for Thomson Reuters, the rebrand for the Discovery Science Channel (for the US and the UK), TBS, Lifetime, TNT. Most recently, Scott directed the design and launch of the new on-demand movie service, Vutopia. He’s also directed several commercial campaigns for clients: Jeep/Dodge, Citizens Bank, Efficiency Vermont, Macy’s, Radio Shack, McDonald’s, Microsoft, Movies On Demand and FXCM. Scott has also become a leader in directing work for large, immersive events in the green space. Such partners include: Conservation International, Sustainable Brands and Opportunity Green. Over the years, Scott has fostered the growth of several designers and has spoken at the Apple Store in Soho, NY, BDA/Washington, DC and Promax/Mumbai, India.

Scott graduated with High Honors from the Graphic Design and Packaging major from the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, CA.
