Vaughan Arnell needs no introduction. The directing veteran has worked alongside some of the biggest names in popular culture on the most iconic music videos of all time.
His stellar advertising portfolio for global brands such as Levis ‘Creek’, Stella Artois ‘Red Shoes’, Aviva ‘I am John’ and Wrangler ‘Be More Than Just a Number’ made Vaughan a multi-award winning prestigious commercial director and he now boards the Merman ship for commercial representation.
Arnell has directed prolific artists such as George Michael, Kylie Minogue, The Spice Girls, as well as Robbie Williams, for whom his video “Rock DJ” was voted seventh most ground-breaking video of all time.
Vaughan has scooped up numerous awards in his career including three Brit Awards for “Millennium” “Rock DJ” and “Say You’ll be There” as well as numerous D&ADs and British Arrows for his commercial work. His videos on YouTube have been collectively viewed over 4 billion times. In 2016, Vaughan also won an MVA Icon Award for his dedication to the music industry.
Vaughan has been heralded for his cinematic vision and hands on approach with celebrity talent that consistently puts them in the comfort seat to always guarantee natural and engaging performances time and time again. His ambition is relentless, his optimism ceaseless and both qualities have seen him turn his attention to potential long form projects under Merman’s Branded wing. Most recently Vaughan has directed music videos for Pet Shop Boys and James Blunt and has recently shot with Idris Elba for Sky. Vaughan reunites with Merman MD/EP of Branded & Commercials, Siobhan Murphy having previously working together and is delighted to join the team in a new chapter for a new decade.
