Tantrum has launched an up & coming talent roster to sit alongside it's main commercials roster. They have kicked off the venture with five new director starlets. The roster is an opportunity for agencies to tap into a high calibre of new emerging talent for smaller projects whether they be for broadcast or online use.
A taster of what this roster holds… Matt & Vince are award winning writer directors with a gift for delivering memorable comedy and performance, their cinema spot 'Shaken and Slurred' won them a Best Publicity Campaign award in 2010 at The Royal Television Awards. Jake Mavity's comedy direction delivers performances that are delightfully quirky; his Conran "Free Range" film getting 50,000 hits in the first month. Award winning director Rich Mitchell combines a distinctive natural visual style with a strong documentary feel. The engaging performances he elicits are demonstrated well in his off beat piece Mercury Man. Young director Tom Shrapnel has in a short time built an impressive body of work in commercials and also won awards for his short films including "Simply Rob", a raw and poignant portrait of a New York based Latino poet and HIV activist which is currently doing the rounds on the festival circuit. Scubaboy are the rosters directing duo who combine animation, live action and motion graphics and at times all three in the same piece; they have created attractive moving image pieces for the likes of Vodafone, the BBC and the band UNKLE.
tantrum will be building the roster further over the coming months to add to the comedy, performance, documentary and motion graphics talents already repped.
