Felt Music were approached by Glue Isobar to find and re-record a classic track for the new Polyfilla campaign. The music / lyrics were fundamental to the creative idea which involves a house that has fallen into disrepair and a 'polyfella' who comes to the rescue. 'Don't leave me this way' (originally by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes) was a contender from the outset as the lyrics worked perfectly with the idea on two levels, speaking - tongues firmly in cheeks - of the love the ladies feel for our hero character as he fills the cracks in their walls. In the end the idea was taken one step further as the agency decided to re-record a more sentimental version of the song (by Thea Gilmore). Lending more comedy to the script but also introducing a beautiful piece of music that both pricks up the ears and stays with you long after the commercial has finished.
