SALT.TV and Nick Collett kick off comedy campaign for Avios in Marrakech

SALT.TV and comedy director Nick Collett teamed up with stand up comedian Chris Ramsey for the 'Avios £50 Challenge’.

Devised by agency MBA, the challenge tasked Ramsey to navigate his way through the markets of Marrakech, achieving as much as he could, with the £50 he saved booking his flights with Avios. The film treats the audience to a whirlwind tour of this beautiful city, featuring dancing chickens, questionable street food and street gambling.

Striking a balance between 'An Idiot Abroad’ and classic travel TV, Collett’s light and humorous film draws out Ramsey’s boyish humour, whilst celebrating the culture and vibrancy of Morocco. Without a set script and only the cash in Chris’ pocket to spend, Collett and the production team had to embrace their surroundings, and find the humour within the holiday.

When asked for his thoughts on the Marrakech film experience, director Collett informed us “Where were the camels? We didn’t see any fucking camels!”.

This film joins Nick Collett’s growing reel of commercial and TV work, including long-form comedy for the BBC and Channel 4, spanning sitcom, satire and improvisational comedy projects.
