LONDON 26 July, 2012 - After an extremely busy first half to the year for Sequence Post, the company have recently invested and built a brand new Davinci Resolve grading theatre.
The new install represents stage one of a larger scale facility upgrade, which founder Ben Foakes says "will really step up our Middleton Place outfit into the upper echelons of central London post. We are investing, improving and developing our infrastructure in a very considered way this year and ensuring that the services we offer to clients are at the top of the line in terms of finishing and file based HD work flows."
The new Resolve system has been built around a top spec 12-Core Mac Pro, connected to the central Xsan and has optimised GPU performance with a Cubix expander, including Red Rocket card. A Penta 47", 16-bit grading monitor has been installed, supplied by Oxygen DCT - creating a high-quality playback system for broadcast, commercial and digital feature film grades.
In house colourist Robert Bates and long-term Sequence freelancer Ian Grech will share the operation of the new theatre, which has recently been used to grade a host of long-form HD documentary work for current Sequence clients.
