Two Golds were awarded to Missing Link Films director Meeto at the Kinsale Sharks: Best Direction and Best Use of Film Stock, a new category introduced this year.
As a relatively new, family-run company this marked an important milestone, and something to truly shout about, for a project that was a labour of love.
Danish director Meeto had been passionate about shooting on film and it was gratifying for that vision to be acknowledged by the jury.
Meeto says "For me shooting this on film in 4:3 format gave the idea a sense of authenticity, and really helped to create something unique. I love the simplicity of the whole concept. To me it's very Scandinavian. But with that simplicity I think it's even more important that all aspects of the film feels like an addition to the concept and the feeling of being true to who you are - while not being afraid of change.
Shooting on film added to the whole Scandinavian organic feel that I think these men represent. Film emphasizes facial repression - skin tones etc.. And this would just really be a cool - organic approach and it would add that magic cinematic feel to it. Thanks to my amazing DP Jonathan Grevsen, and to my producer and partner in crime Ben Link who had my back and had total belief in using film”.
The spot has also been shortlisted for Television Commercial of the Year over 60s for Shots Europe Awards in November
