Wave Studios have teamed up with The Works and Tonic Music to launch new in house music services under the name of Wave Music. The new music company will offer composition, creative licensing, music supervision, production and strategy services alongside their award winning sound design and audio post production activities.
Heading up the new company as Creative Director is Nick Payne, who established The Works in 2004 and later the Music+Sound Awards in 2012, both of which have gone from strength to strength since inception. Nick has been creating and supplying music to the advertising, TV and Film industries for some 18 years as well as producing commercial recordings for labels, publishers and signed recording artists along the way.
Wave Music, which has been a year in the planning (and many a night spent in the Sun and 13 Cantons) is a merger of two very reputable and established music companies (The Works and Tonic Music) which now live under the roof of one of London’s best sound design and audio post production studios.
The composition and production team have an extensive network of artists that are actively working in the music and film industries and who are successful in their own right. “We bring talent from the music industry and film industry to the world of advertising” explains Nick, who goes on to say “we have successful film composers working with us, song writers with incredible credits under their belts (and plenty of gold discs hanging in their studios), producers who regularly work with famous and established artists and arrangers and orchestrators that can often be found scoring feature films with some of the world’s best orchestras”.
Wave Music’s creative licensing team does not earn commission from representing certain catalogue and therefore has the entire, unbiased world of music at it’s disposal and an inherent ability to negotiate terms favourable for clients. The company also offers strategic music services for clients who want to build a campaign around a musical theme or artist or sound palette and can advise on legal issues surrounding the use of licensed and/or bespoke music for any medium.
