As you may have seen in previous SohoSoho newsletters, The Works Music and Sound were awarded the coveted Best Re-Record award at the Inaugural Music and Sound Awards 2012 for Nick Payne's rearrangement of "What a Wonderful World" for the BBC Remarkable moments trailer by RKCRY&R and Red Bee.
The piece has since gone on to pick up two golds and a silver at the British Arrows an Andy Award and a D&AD Yellow Pencil!
RKCR/Y&R, Red Bee and the The Works created a two minute tribute to the nature documentary work of David Attenborough which aired at the end of the Frozen Planet series on BBC on December 7. The agency had the challenge of creating a trail that explicitly showcases the phenomenal content the BBC has brought and will continue to bring to the nation and to implicitly pay homage to the legend that is Sir David Attenborough. Attenborough, who turned 85 in 2011 provides a spoken version of “What a Wonderful World” over a new, unique arrangement by The Works of the track popularised by Louis Armstrong in 1968 accompanying carefully selected images from nature documentaries.
